Valeo’s Dual Mass Flywheel (DMF) delivers best-in-class vehicle efficiency and driver comfort. Every second car rolling off the assembly line today is equipped with a DMF, and this rate continues to grow. By effectively filtering out dynamic vibrations between the engine and gearbox, the DMF safeguards sensitive components while improving drivability.
The DMF utilizes two independent flywheels connected via a bearing or bushing, with an integrated damper system. This design absorbs torque and engine vibration, reducing noise, harshness, and protecting the drivetrain. High-quality materials—including long-life ball bearings, bushings, and premium “best-in-class” spring wire—ensure exceptional durability and performance. Valeo’s added friction damping system maintains its stability throughout the DMF’s lifespan.
Valeo’s DMFs are tailored to each vehicle’s application, supporting engines from 200 Nm to 500 Nm torque. Their precise tuning ensures low stiffness for maximum noise reduction, optimized filtering for rattling and booming issues, and improved gearbox synchronizer durability. Thanks to reduced clutch disc inertia and exceptional noise reduction, fuel consumption is optimized by allowing lower-speed driving.
Trust Valeo’s Dual Mass Flywheel for OE-quality performance, reduced NVH levels, and enhanced driving comfort—backed by Valeo’s long-standing expertise in clutch systems and vibration management.
